BEIJING, August 21, 2024 (Reporters Chen Hang and Lv Shaowei) - The 2024 World Robot Conference kicked off in Beijing on the 21st. The five-day event, hosted by the China Electronics Society and the World Robot Cooperation Organization, features a main forum, thematic forums, an expo, and competitions, creating an international platform for industry exchange, achievement display, and innovative cooperation in the field of robotics.
Xu Xiaolan, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Chairman of the Zhi Gong Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the All-China Women's Federation, and Chairman of the China Electronics Society, pointed out that over the past decade, the World Robot Conference has held nearly 200 forums, invited 2,246 experts to give presentations, attracted nearly 1.4 million participants, and 1,249 companies to exhibit, strongly promoting scientific and industrial innovation in the field of robotics. It has become a "leading innovation event," "industry promotion event," and "international cooperation event" in the global robotics field. This year's conference, themed "Cultivating New Quality Productivity, Sharing the Intelligent New Future," provides an international platform for exchange and cooperation by in-depth discussions and showcasing the latest technologies, products, and applications.
Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said in his speech that over the past decade, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments, has increased support for innovative policies and promoted changes in production service models, leading China's robot industry to grow from small to large and become an important force in the global robot industry. Next, efforts will be made to conduct basic research on robots, tackle key core technologies, actively improve the "robot +" application system, and promote the high-quality development of China's robot industry.
Jin Wei, Deputy Mayor of Beijing, said in his speech that robots are one of the strategic leading industries to achieve high-quality development in the new era of the capital. Last year, the total revenue of Beijing's robot industry exceeded 20 billion yuan, with more than 400 companies, including 50 specialized, refined, and innovative "little giant" enterprises, ranking first in the country. Currently, the robot industry has entered a new round of transformation opportunities, driving human society to accelerate into the intelligent era. Beijing will adhere to a dual drive of product innovation and scenario demonstration, and a joint drive of industrial collaboration and ecological optimization, to strive to create a global highland for the robot industry.
