2024 CIIF Insights: Robots Head Towards Higher Payloads, Chinese Manufacturers Shift from Following to Running Parallel

The 24th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) was held from September 24 to 28, 2024, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As an important part of the CIIF, the robot exhibition, featuring various intelligent robots this time, targeted the core technologies and key areas of high-quality development of new industrialization, showcasing the core technologies and key areas of high-quality development of China's new industrialization, providing a good model for industrial transformation and upgrading.

At the CIIF robot exhibition, more than 350 well-known Chinese and foreign brands were displayed together. The "Big Four" of international industrial robots all appeared with large-scale booths. Among them, ABB brought the "OmniCore Motion Control Challenge Demonstration Unit" mentioned by Musk not long ago, where three robots worked together to complete tasks. Fanuc unveiled the M-1000/550 high-payload long-arm robot for the first time globally. Looking at the distribution of manufacturers, collaborative robots and industrial robots shared the spotlight, jointly showing the new possibilities for the upgrade of industrial manufacturing.

It is worth noting that this year's CIIF also specially set up an area for humanoid robots, where 10 leading domestic humanoid robot companies demonstrated the application scenarios of humanoid robots in various links of intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, traditional robot manufacturers such as Xiangong Robot, Estun Robot, and Jieka Robot showcased the latest humanoid robot products, demonstrating the current robot companies' attention to new technologies and close tracking.
