Nanfang Financial Media reporter Wu Jianan and intern Fan Yi report from Guangzhou
On April 26, the 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Conference and the 2023 Membership Conference of Guangdong Province Robotics Association were held in Guangzhou.
Liang Wanxiang, a senior inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the conference that robotics and artificial intelligence are core areas of international competition. With the gestation and rise of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, intelligent manufacturing has become an important direction for the development of the manufacturing industry and a commanding height that all parties are vying for. It is permeating into various traditional industries and has become the focus of the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry. To build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a world-class bay area and a world-class urban agglomeration, the focus must be on "smart manufacturing," using "smart manufacturing" as the driving force and engine for development, and taking the path of "smart manufacturing."
Min Huaqing, Executive Director of the Expert Committee of Guangdong Province Robotics Association and former Dean of the School of Software at South China University of Technology, released the "2023 Guangdong Province Robotics Industry Development Report" (the "Report") at the conference. The report shows that Guangdong has become the largest intelligent robotics industry cluster in China, with the industry scale and the number of enterprises ranking first in the country. A number of leading backbone enterprises have been cultivated and introduced in various segments of the intelligent robotics industry chain. However, in the hot track of humanoid robots, Guangdong still needs to make technological breakthroughs in key components such as flexible joints, which requires the technical support and collaboration of research institutions in Guangdong, such as Pengcheng Laboratory and Pazhou Laboratory.
According to the "Report," in terms of industrial robots, in 2023, the output of industrial robots in Guangdong Province reached 168,800 units, ranking first in the country for four consecutive years. One out of every three industrial robots in the country is "Made in Guangdong," and a number of representative local backbone enterprises have been cultivated, such as Guangzhou Ruisong, Guangzhou Numerical Control, and Huashu Robotics; in terms of service robots, Guangdong enterprises have achieved phased results in emerging technology fields such as voice interaction, lidar, and sensors, with typical enterprises including iFLYTEK and Ruibo Optoelectronics.
Looking at the regional distribution, Shenzhen focuses on service robots, Guangzhou on industrial robots, and Foshan and Dongguan on the integrated application of robots. Among them, robot industry parks show the characteristics of "full bloom and regional concentration," mainly distributed in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, and other places, represented by the Songshan Lake International Robot Industry Base, Huangpu Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park, Shenzhen Nanshan Robot Industry Park, etc.
At the same time, the "Report" proposes that Guangdong has cultivated and laid out a number of cross-industry, open, and public service organizations related to intelligent robots, including testing common technology public service platforms, industry information and policy information service organizations, industry supply and marketing service organizations, and achievement trading service organizations, mainly distributed in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhuhai, and other places. It has established the Guangdong Province Robotics Innovation Center, the National Robotics Testing and Evaluation Center (Guangzhou), and the National Industrial Robot Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Guangdong), further promoting the improvement of the industrial ecosystem of Guangdong's intelligent robots.
As a representative of intelligent robot enterprises, He Qing, Chairman of Shanghai Aican Robot (Group) Co., Ltd., said to the reporter of Nanfang Financial Media that after years of research and development, the company has continuously refined digital kitchen electrical technology, products, and services, subverting the traditional kitchen electrical dependence on people and labor intensity of operation, allowing traditional cooking to truly combine with artificial intelligence. At present, Aican robots are more accurate than chefs in dosing and temperature control, with precise temperature control, and the pot temperature can reach up to 230 degrees, and the dishes are full of flavor.
Li Gang, the rotating president of the Guangdong Province Robotics Association and Chairman of Guangzhou Xinbang Intelligent Co., Ltd., said to the reporter of Nanfang Financial Media that against the background of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the robot industry, as an emerging industry, has tremendous development potential and market prospects. Especially in the field of robot application, the market for intelligent manufacturing is vast. With the maturation of intelligent manufacturing technology, more leading enterprises will emerge. The association will serve as a public platform to gather the wisdom and strength of all parties to jointly promote the rapid development of the robot industry.
